FC Barcelona Set to Play Historic Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
