I will dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's boxing match.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
