Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident is not the first time that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has encountered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was required to head back to Washington after suffering a mechanical problem.
