'Living a Nightmare': Relatives of Unaccounted For Young People Desperately Seek Information After Alpine Blaze
The loved ones of teens unaccounted for after a tragic blaze at a venue in a Switzerland's alpine town are enduring an agonising wait for answers and requesting information about their loved ones via social media.
The fire devastated the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Verified video reveal the ceiling catching alight as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.
Authorities have indicated that it could take an extended period to formally name the victims of the disaster, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and injured another scores more. A spokesperson stated on Friday that the majority of the injured have been accounted for, with work still underway to locate the remaining few.
In the waiting period, loved ones have been posting on the internet to plead for information about their loved ones who were present at the venue that night.
