Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

β€œThe boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”
